Rules and Regulations

KYN, with an aim to promote the short films and encourage the upcoming directors, producers, and other artistes, shall conduct this Contest through their Platform, as per the rules and regulations as listed below for a smooth functioning.

  • The participant must be above 18 years of age and a lawful citizen of India.
  • Only one entry per participant.
  • All short films shall be uploaded in the correct format on or before 13-09-2024.
  • Each participant shall submit/upload only one short film.
  • The Short Film should be in Tamil / English.
  • The storyline should stick to the theme given.
  • All entries must be accompanied by Poster of the short film (Poster Size - 1280 x 720 pixels and up to 2MB)
  • Films once entered cannot be withdrawn.
  • The duration for the short film must be from 2 minutes - 5 minutes.
  • The short film must be original and no watermark of any kind should be on the short film.
  • The film must be 1080p quality/ MP4 Format. (2GB Maximum)
  • Proper Audio and Color correction is a must, in case of failure to ensure the same, it would lead to direct disqualification.
  • Disqualification and rejection : Refer to Terms and Conditions
  • In case of any controversy on a matter not mentioned in the above regulations, KYN will decide on an appropriate action. KYN’s word shall be final and binding.
  • Kyn has the sole rights to disqualify immediately if,
    • “Violence may not be glorified / Involvement of children in violent acts or abuse / Abuse or ridicule of the physically or mentally handicapped / Unnecessary depictions of cruelty to animals / Gratuitous violence, cruelty, or horror / No vulgarity, obscenity, depravity or double entendres / No scenes degrading women / No denigration by race, religion or other social group / No promotion of sectarian, obscurantist, anti-scientific and anti-national attitudes / Relations with foreign countries should not be affected / No national symbols or emblems, except in accordance with the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950 (12 of 1950).”
    • Due credits must be given to the cast and the crew in the Short film.
    • During the Competition period the short film should not be used in any other Competition/ Social Media site other than Kyn Site/app.
    • Jury Decision is final.
    • Kyn shall retain the whole rights of the Top 25 short film.
    • All Participants hereby agrees that the Company shall have the right to unlimited use and reuse of the Content in a manner that the Company may deem fit including but not limited to, publishing it on the Social Media Platforms, product pages, any third-party promotional activities, marketplaces or across all online paid and non-paid channels in a similar way, During the competition period.
  • Any music tracks used by the participants in the short film shall be either originally created by the music director of the concerned short film team, or if it is borrowed from any other music director not being part of the concerned team then the copyright license/right to use such music track should have been duly obtained as per applicable laws by the filmmaker and team before uploading/submitted their short film.
